I Can’t Remember

Ever wish certain things wouldn’t come to your mind anymore? Things that you just don’t want to remember!

Well I do…and last night was one of those nights when I awakened to thoughts of things in the past.  Things that I thought had happened but may not have.  Things that happened which I wished hadn’t happened.  Well, God’s Word says in Isaiah 65:12, “The Lord will create a new earth.  The former things will not be remembered nor will they come to mind.”  Also, Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.”

Today, I proclaim the Word of God over our lives.  I ask God to help us forget the past as He prepares us for what He’s going to do in our future!

If you, like me, are sometimes tormented by your past hurts, or someone else’s past; God is saying…forget it; I’m doing something new in your future!  Grab hold to God’s Word and present it back to him.

Lord, as your Word tells me to forget the past failures, hurts, disappointments, mistakes and get ready for something new that you’re going to do.  I ask that you help me not remember the past anymore.  I don’t want the thoughts that torment me to come to my mind again.  I thank you for watching over my mind and for changing me.  I pray this, Your Word, in Jesus name.  Amen

Just what I need…Acts 3:6

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you.”

The man asked for money, but Peter gave him something much better—the use of his legs. We often ask God to solve a small problem, but He wants to give us a whole new life and help for all our problems. God may say, “I’ve got something even better for you.” Ask God for what you want, but don’t be surprised when he gives you what you really need.

Not what you were thinking?

God’s choice may not be what you were thinking…
Who would have believed that God would choose to save the world through a servant, not a king?  God works in ways we do not expect.  Christ was considered just an ordinary man. He would not attract people to Him because of great wealth, beauty, or fun.  However, He attracted those in need, the sick, and the hopeless.  Also, still today, sadly, He often attracts the same people.

Don’t be surprised when the hurting, sick, poor, accused, and sinful folks are attracted to you.  We are like our Lord.  People are attracted to us because they are looking for hope, deliverance, salvation, food…not money or good fun.  Just like Christ, we should offer them the salvation that only comes from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Such as I have I give thee…I offer you Christ.

God is Huge…

The God we serve is Huge!  Bigger and more abundant than our minds can imagine.  Don’t make God small in your life…expect mind blowing experiences!  Blow our minds Lord!  Show us who You are!  Rejoice!

God Remembers His Promises

God will not forget us…He will fulfill every promise He makes.
God will even do the impossible to make His promises come true.  Do you know what God has promised you?  Read His Word to discover the many promises of God.  God has not and will not forget you.  Do not forget God.  Isaiah 49:8-26

“If only” I ____

“If only” I had___ or “if only” I had not___; we have all been there.
Some of our “if only” situations are minor in the big scheme of things. Other “if only” decisions are life-changing.  “If only” decisions are often followed by regret.

We have a chance today to eliminate the “if only” situations in our lives by listening to God’s voice and obeying His Word.  God will reveal the steps to us to get us back on track with Him.  Simply trust and obey God.  When we do so, we eliminate the decisions that we make which cause us regret.

Sovereign Lord, You are All-Knowing and All-Powerful.  Forgive me that I have not always followed Your ways.  Release me from the “if only” decisions in my life.  Put me back on track with you Lord.  In Jesus name, I pray.  Amen.

Out to get me!

Ever feel like some folks are just out to get you?  Ever just can’t understand what you could have done to some folks to make them hate you so much?

Well, when others conspire against us, we can ask God for protection because He knows everything, especially their secret attacks, or back-biting.  God has your back today…just remember to ask Him to help guard you against the unknown and even known attacks.  Psalm 64

Does your life help others believe?

The Lord is teaching us how to grow up and become more like Him. Growing up sometimes require growing pains. These experiences we learn while growing up are the experiences we can share with others to help them grow in Christ too! Do not focus on what others are doing, or not doing, instead tell others what God has done for you. We each have our story to tell about The Lord, and that is exactly the story we need to tell to help others believe.

Doubt…has a place

Can doubt be good?  U bet!  How so?  When doubt leads to questions, and the questions lead to answers, that help our understanding, then doubt is good.  When doubt and its uncertainties lead me to trust, whether there is proof or not, then doubt is good. Also, when my trusting leads to hope, then the process of doubting has done well.

In John 20:24-31, Thomas doubted that Christ had risen until he was able to witness it with his own eyes and touch The Risen Lord with his own hands.  Jesus calls those who believe without seeing, blessed!  Doubt that refuses to believe even when answers are presented causes us to lose faith.  This is when doubt is not good.

Let any doubt in your life today; deepen your faith as you continue to search for answers.  Don’t let doubting be a constant state.  In the bible, Christ appeared to doubting Thomas one week after He appeared to the other disciples.  Therefore, a good rule of thumb might be to limit our doubting to one week of seeking for answers. You have to put some effort into seeking answers to your questions. I pray that when you receive the answers that you accept the answers so that doubt does not destroy your faith.

Emotions…

The same circumstances in our lives that produce fear may also produce joy and passion. Fear tends to distort our understanding…blows things way out of proportion!

By asking God to lead and guide us out of fear…He gives us a new perspective. He puts us on a mission for Him. How can God be glorified in my response to my circumstances? What can I learn from my circumstances that may be helpful to others going through something similar? Thinking this way transforms us from the fearful emotional state to confidence and faith in God. Therefore, when we seek God in our circumstances, He does something supernatural–He steps in the midst of our troubles and gives us peace, joy, and amazement!

Lord Your peace helps direct my life and transforms my fear to a passion for seeking after You! Continue to stir up Your passion in us Lord!
