He’s just enough…Confirmation after battle

Do your troubles, like deep waters, threaten to drown you?  David, helpless and weak, knew that God alone had rescued him from his enemies when he was defenseless.

When you wish that God would quickly rescue you from your troubles, remember that he can either deliver you or be your support as you go through them.  Either way, his protection is best for you. When you feel as though you are drowning in troubles, ask God to help you, hold you steady, and protect you. In His care, you are never helpless.

Some people think belief in God is a crutch for weak people who cannot make it on their own. God is indeed a shield to protect us when we are too weak to face certain trials by ourselves, but he does not want us to remain weak. He strengthens, protects, and guides us in order to send us back into an evil world to stand for Him. Then he continues to work with us because the strongest person on earth is infinitely weaker than God and needs his help.

David was not a coward; he was a mighty warrior who, even with all his armies and weapons, knew that only God could ultimately protect and save him.  God does not promise to eliminate challenges; instead, He promises to give us strength to meet those challenges. If He gave us no rough roads to walk, no mountains to climb, and no battles to fight, we would not grow. He does not leave us alone with our challenges. Instead, he stands beside us, teaches us, and strengthens us to face them.

Worship the LORD our God and His blessing will be on your food and water. He will take away sickness from among us.  He will make all our enemies turn their backs and run.

It is hard going through challenging times–especially when they do not seem to stop.  However, God delivers us from them all.

How have you seen God at work today protecting you and those you love, administering justice to those who commit evil acts?  You have seen with your own eyes; God has shown you His strength and power, now follow Him with your whole heart.

The way to be in God’s winners’ circle is by loving him and staying faithful even under pressure.  When you are faithful to The Lord, He will show Himself faithful to you.  Psalm 18, Exodus 23, and James 1:12

Stuck between a rock and a hard place…

In Exodus 14:1-19, the Israelites were stuck between the mountains and the sea.  We may sometimes feel trapped in our jobs, relationships, situations—as a result of circumstances.   We may begin to feel like our hands are tied—we are doomed—no way out of the situation—trapped!  That is exactly how the Israelites felt too!  A physical mountain on one side and the sea before them—and coming behind them were the Egyptians.  Coming for the kill! The Israelites felt doomed!  So we feel that way too when we can see no way out, and we feel the full court press of our enemies coming to destroy us! We may feel fear, despair, and start to complain about our situation— even question if God sees what’s about to happen to us!  The Israelites certainly felt that way.

However, by focusing on how God has been faithful in the past and brought us through, we can face crises with confidence that God will do it again.   Rather than fearing and complaining, trust God.  Even Moses prayed to God to intervene and help them.  Gods reply to Moses was, “Why are you crying out to me?  Tell the Israelites to move on toward the sea”!  Sometimes we know what to do, and we must just do it!  Don’t keep praying to God, asking Him for more guidance.  Just do what you know you are supposed to do!  Moses got it!  He told the Israelites to stand still and see the deliverance The Lord will bring!

I say to you today!  If God is telling you to move ahead on something, do not wait any longer, move forward.  You are not going to drown if you trust in God!  I know it may seem like you will lose all you have.  Only trust God.  It may seem like there’s no way you are going to get out of this one; you are running into a brick wall!  However, stand still and see what God will do!  Time to act!  You know the end of the story with the Israelites, they pressed forward, and God parted the sea for them to cross over!  God has brought you to this place between a rock and a hard place so that you will know to trust Him only.   So when He delivers you, you will know that no one did it but God!  Trust God to rescue you from your enemies today!  I am not going to list what your enemies could be, you know them.  Just do what you know God wants you to do!  Move forward and watch Him deliver you from your enemies today!

Thank You Lord for Your Word.

Stuck in the same place for years…

It is time to move forward.  It is a lifelong process.  Find yourself continuing to do the things you do not want to do? Also, unable to do the things that you know you should do?  It is because we have a sinful nature.  When you want to do good, evil is right there with you.

Our bodies are slaves to sin, but our minds can be transformed to be like Christ, making our minds a slave to God’s laws.  Transform our minds Lord.  God has a solution!  A way to have victory over our bodies and sin.  God’s solution is the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit lives in us and gives us power!

You are stuck in the same place because you cannot defend yourself against Satan’s attacks on your own.  You need the help of someone who has defeated the power of sin and Satan.  You need the help of the Holy Spirit!  It is time to move forward in victory over sin.  Victory over the things that kept your mind tormented.  Victory over sexual perversion.  Victory over your locked up finances.  Victory over fear!  Victory over doubt.  Victory over un forgiveness.  Victory over anger.  God has come today to pull you out of your muck and to move you forward, BUT, you cannot do it without the Holy Spirit!

Master, we surrender all.  I cannot win the war against sin on my own.  I must fight against my sinful nature which would have me to do the things that I know are wrong to do.  Also, to not do the things that are right–because I have no power over them.  However, You have overcome every sin I face.  You can help me Lord.  Please send your Holy Spirit to set me free from sin, even from myself.  Also, I know that I will need to fight this battle against sin and myself, every day of my life.  However, by your Holy Spirit, I will win every time!  If I should fall, I know the Holy Spirit will reach out and help me.  What hope I have in You Lord!  I thank You today for freedom from sin and power over Satan, through Jesus.  I am stuck no more.
