Merry Christmas!

God is with us; as prophesied by the prophet Isaiah, approximately 700 years before the birth of Jesus.  He will be called Immanuel, which means God is with us.  (Isaiah 7:14)

Not to be confused by the name Immanuel versus Jesus; God is, and always will be with us through Jesus—which means the Lord Saves.  (Matthew 1:21)

God is the only one who can save us from sin, and He did so through His Son Jesus our Savior today!  Our Savior, by the very nature of His Name, is with us, Always.  Think about how God has been with you today from last Christmas until this Christmas.  Rejoice!  In knowing that God’s Word is true!  Jesus is with us when rejoicing is all around us and He is with us when the shadows come near—He is with us!  Rejoice!  God is here!

Don’t miss God by looking for someone great amongst you today.  Welcome those low in status, the humble.  God uses the weak things to shame the strong.  Jesus was crucified a criminal yet He is Savior!  (1 Corinthians 1:22-27)

Lord, help us share Your love with the weak amongst us today.  We have those— just like Joseph, Mary, and Jesus among us; seeking a safe place to stay.  Don’t let us turn our backs on them.  Help us share our homes, our country, and our hearts with them.  Just as You gave the best gift to us; Your Son, Jesus—Let us give our best to the weak, lowly, hungry, lonely, and lost around us on this Christmas Day.  Welcome someone into your home!  To your dinner table!  So share Jesus with them!  Merry Christmas!

Be glad!

“Today is the day The Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it!”  Psalm 118:24

There are days when the last thing we want to do is rejoice.  Our mood is down; our situation is out of hand, and our sorrow or guilt is overwhelming. However, no matter how low, let our prayer end in praise!  It is okay to tell God how we feel; even if we do not feel like rejoicing.  God will give us a reason to rejoice.  God has given us this day to live and to serve Him– let’s be glad!
