A Prayer for strength…

Father, You are against the proud and arrogant, and You give grace to the humble.   Therefore, I humbly submit myself to You, Lord. In the name of Jesus, I resist the devil, and he will flee from me. I resist the cares of the world, which try to stress me daily.

Lord I come to You today, for I work hard and am weighed down and overburdened, and I know You can give me rest.  You will ease and relieve and refresh my soul daily.  I’m committed to learning how to live my life the way You want me to, Lord Jesus.  Thanks for being gentle and patient with me as I learn.

You will not give me more to handle than I’m capable of dealing with.  You are not harsh with me as I learn what’s right and what’s wrong.  You are even patient with me when I make mistakes.

Today Lord, I give You some of my cares that are weighing too heavily on me.  Will you help me with them?  I thank You for sustaining me.  I thank You that I’m not left alone to deal with these cares on my own.

I am confident in You Lord, that You will help me stand strong even though I’m weak today.  Re-charge me O Lord.  I will accept Your rest as you reset my soul.  Thank You for the rest that I already have in knowing that You will answer my prayer.  I’m going to rest in knowing you are faithful and watchful over your promises too.  You will do what You said You would.  I’m not worried Lord, I’m not afraid, I just needed to turn my cares in and take off my heavy load.  I’ll climb back in the saddle and whistle as I work for You.  You are my God.

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Engage the world with Gods Love

Awe…what good am I if I stay in my prayer closet and never use what I have gleaned from my relationship with God to share His love to the world?

We cannot grow tired of praying for someone or something to happen.  We must be persistent in prayer, never losing hope just because we do not see an answer.  We must believe God when He says that He hears and answers prayer.  1 Thessalonians 5:17, 1 John 5:14

God is always listening…to our prayers, to our complaining, to our silence.  So He knows the best time to answer our prayers.

Expect God to answer your prayers, look for His answers.  Look for the opportunities today to share God’s love, which you have already experienced, to others.  Let non-believers know that Jesus saves.  Remind Christians of their hope in Him.  God lovingly draws us to Him and we should by love and kindness draw others to Christ.

Let our life be an example of Christ that reaches out to the lost, hurting, sick and weak—constantly pulling them toward Christ their Savior, Deliverer, Healer, and Strength.

Look for ways today to engage this world by sharing God’s love today.  Colossians 4: 2-7

Get to know Him…

At different times in our lives, we will be drawn to different characteristics of God—His love, power, gentleness, strength, patience, joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness.

John 3:16 tells us that God loved the world so much that He gave His Son, Jesus.  That whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but have eternal life.

Hebrews 13:8 states that Jesus is faithful, the same; yesterday, today and forever.

1 John 4:8 tells us that God is love.

2 Peter 3:9 says that The Lord is patient with us wishing that we would repent rather than perish.

Psalm 30:5 tells us that God’s anger is for a moment, that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

James 1:17 reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from God.

Isaiah 40:28 tells us that God does not grow faint or weary. And He knows everything. God is powerful.

Psalm 103:1-22 tells us to focus on the good things that God is doing. Of course we could complain about life, but there is plenty to praise God for. He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from death, crowns us with love and compassion, satisfies our desires, and gives righteousness and justice. No matter how difficult our current situation, we have many blessings we can count.

Isaiah 41:10 God doesn’t want us to be afraid because He is with us. God has established a relationship with us; He is our God. And God assures us that He will strengthen, help, and give us victory over sin and death.

Philippians 4:7 tells us that God’s peace is very different from what we know as peace. It’s more than positive thinking, a good feeling or the absence of conflict. God’s peace comes when we know that He is Sovereign—in control. God can guard us against anxiety and depression.

Romans 2:4 tells us that in His kindness, God holds back his judgment, giving people time to turn from their sin in repentance.

Strength

When obstacles come our way, obstacles that we can not move on our own, we learn to depend on God.  When we admit to God that we cannot fix it by ourselves, we are telling God that we need Him to help us and that He is the ONLY one who can.  God wants us to come to Him for help.  Lord we acknowledge our weakness, now, perfect your strength in us.  Thank you Lord!  We rely on only in you.  2 Corinthians 12:9 says; “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Lord PLEASE!  Strengthen us now.
