Praise, Worship, and Thankfulness…

Praise—our response to God for what He has done, is doing and will do. Praise relates to the acts of God. Praise is what we do when we recognize, appreciate, and express God’s greatness. The more we focus our thoughts on God, the more we are moved to praise Him. The more we read our Bible, the more we get to know Him. We praise God when we can appreciate all He does.

Worship— our response to who God is? Worship relates to God’s character. Worship can be something we do in celebration and quiet dedication to God. Our worship demonstrates our deep devotion to God. True worship doesn’t just take place in a church; rather, true worship is when we discover God’s presence in our life at home, at work, at school, in the game, and at church. God wants to live in our hearts wherever we go, not just when we go to church.

Thankfulness— a grateful acknowledgement of God’s acts and His character! We should be grateful to God for His personal concern, help, and mercy toward us. God not only protects, guides, and forgives us, but His creation provides everything we need. The more we realize how we benefit from knowing God; we are fully able to express our thanks to Him through praise and worship!

Worship…

It is not where we worship that counts, but how we worship. The Holy Spirit can help us worship. In Romans 8:26 the Holy Spirit helps us even pray. It says, as believers we are never alone…when you do not know how to pray or the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with you and for you; and God answers. Remember to ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray.

The Holy Spirit teaches us how to worship by teaching us the words of Christ. In John 14:26 the bible says that the Holy Spirit will teach us all things and remind us of everything that Jesus has said to us. The Word of God is there for us to learn, and the Holy Spirit will not let us forget it.

The Holy Spirit tells us we are loved! Romans 5:5 says, God poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us. The Love of God gave us His Son and God sent His Holy Spirit to live in us after His Son returned to heaven. God’s Holy Spirit is the Love the He gives to all who believe Him. Also, It gives us power!

Worship God in prayer, be taught by Him and accepting His Love. There are many ways to worship God, just remember that God is a Spirit, and we must worship Him in spirit and truth. God is not limited to a place or time to worship. He can be worshipped anywhere at any time. How about all the time?

Worship Him…Revelations 7:11

As the angels in heaven standing around the throne, fell down on their faces and worshipped God saying, “Amen! PRAISE and GLORY and WISDOM and THANKS and HONOR and POWER and STRENGTH be to our God forever and ever.  Amen!”  So too, must I worship Him.  Show respect and love for God today by praying and believing in Him, loving one another, being kind and caring, helping those in need, and telling people about God’s great love for us by giving of His Son Jesus to us.
